Bitter-Sweet Goodbyes. As We Like It.

“I’ve had to say goodbye more times than I’ve liked, but everyone can say that. And no matter how many times we do it, even when it’s for the greater good, it still stings. And though we’ll never forget what we’ve given up, we owe it to ourselves to keep moving forward. What we can’t do is live our lives always afraid of the next goodbye, because chances are they’re not going to stop. The trick is to recognize when a goodbye can be a good thing; when it’s a chance to start again.”

We bond with people very easily; the problem comes in when we have to part ways. I’ve had to move from one place to another, and as that happened “Goodbye” seemed to be the hardest word I had to say. As we moved away, some still stayed in touch while some decided to take a different route all together. It’s very sad when one chooses a different life when all that has probably changed is the distance between us. Why is it as if you’ve lost each other forever? For those who I have actually lost forever, I didn’t get a chance to say “Goodbye” to them. The feelings were intense, and being able to recover from such losses seemed impossible. But perceiving it as a good thing, it didn’t seem as a loss any longer. For that I’d definitely have to thank those who stood by me.

As I thought about it, I realised the more we cling on to people or anything for that matter, the tougher it gets to be able to live without it. You’ve got to hold on to loose ends, but you shouldn’t obviate them in the bargain. Sometimes “trying” too hard to keep everything perfect ruins the simple moments you could’ve had. In life all things come to an end, good or bad and we should smile that they happened rather than dampen spirits because it’s over.
In life, rather than living a lie or prejudicing yourself you should rather sail away. Not just for yourself but also for the other one who’s worthy of much more. We can be pretty mercurial at times, and life as we know it happens at the blink of an eyelid. You rather cherish the “Hellos” and make the “Goodbye” a good thing to remember. And all that happened in between will be moments that shall be held in high even though you’re not together anymore.
Being deeply in love is what makes it hard to give up often, but this very love can be the pillar of strength too. Situations may be twisted and awry and withdrawing affections may seem to be the best groove. This same love will help you let go of the yaw ways. Love brings about optimism, being able to kiss goodbye speaks for itself. You can leg people, places, things or even memories. As long as your song and dance is lucid, missing the boat is not as bad as we think it is.
“Goodbye”, it’s arcane in nature.
“Goodbyes” sadden you but very often they bring you solace too. Sweet is its memory if said in good faith and bitter is its taste when it’s illogical.
It is yet, as we like it.
