We grow up from innocent children to rebellious teenagers to somewhat responsible adults to cranky old people. There’s one constant through all these stages, something that connects every being at some point if not the other… a breakup! And if there’s one thing that can soothe you and calm you down after you almost OD on your own drama – it’s music. Artists over the years have minted millions and gazillions over heartbreak. Their bread, your liberator.
Sometimes they crush you to pieces, other times you’re the reason you’re heartbroken. Either way, it is just as painful. Call yourself naive or stupid… here you are with a bucket of ice-cream – melted and delicious, salty with your tears, music playing out loud and you singing even louder sounding worse than you do on your drunken nights but oh well! If it isn’t your phone reading so well into your state of mind, it’s the people around you singing songs that define your life story. And if that fails, be sure of your television box running shows and movies that could only make you feel worse. Rom-coms on replay, with all those couples you’ve always adored. You don’t know whether to kill him or to kick yourself in the gut. Either way, you will get there. Sooner or later.
Quite frankly, you needn’t punish yourself for the choices you’ve made. The universe will find a way. After all, Karma is a bitch. No really!
But with all of this going on, build on your will and turn up your deck. Sob away to some of the best songs made just for you.
Did your heart break? Are you questioning your relationship? Are you doubtful of you’re headed? Did you break his/her heart and yours in turn too?

Tightrope – Paul Freeman
My mind is missing pieces of you but I’ll keep holding on.

There’s a story to each song listed here and if you notice carefully, they follow a sequence. We all have our own songs, our own stories to tell. Here’s mine. What’s yours like?
For every broken heart, there’s a song out there. Don’t give up just yet, love again.
